The certificate requires 24 credit hours and covers topics such as language development, linguistic features, assessment, Michigan EL guidelines, aspects of social and emotional learning, instruction, race, class, and research methodology.   • Concept of total pain in end of life care
  • Assessment of symptoms in palliative and hospice care
  • Interprofessional symptom management
  • Symptom burden and clusters
  • Quality of life in advanced disease
  • Cultural influences on pain and symptom management

This class is offered winter semester fully online.

Students pursuing this degree will need to transfer in an associate degree in respiratory care from a CoARC accredited institution, and can transfer up to 80 credits of coursework. In addition, you will need to complete 40 credits of GVSU respiratory care coursework.
