Within the major, you can apply 15 credits from your A.A.S. degree or prior learning as a technical focus. You may also transfer all or most of your credits from an accredited institution and earn up to 24 credits from prior learning. These credits will count toward the 120 credits required to graduate. Students must also follow all general education requirements and complete the following major requirements:

You must also complete courses for the Business Fundamentals certificate and the Leadership certificate. Business Fundamentals helps you develop financial and accounting acumen, as well as the human side of business and organizational operations. You will grow skills in analyzing financial statements and performance, creating operating budgets, managing and motivating others, and analyzing and using marketing information. Leadership focuses on social change and includes further exploration into organizational theory, team building, design thinking, and grant writing. You will develop professional skills that employers are looking for such as team building and ethics.

The badge is comprised of two courses, three credits each.
The badge is not a degree or certificate; however, if you choose to continue, completion of this badge and the other three taxation specialization badges will create stackable credentials towards earning a master's degree in taxation. The coursework offers the flexibility for students to develop effective interpersonal skills, foster decision making, and/or entrepreneurial thinking needed to manage departments or organizations, start their own business venture, or to enhance their existing careers.

Students may choose four courses to dual-count toward the B.S. and M.S. degrees, up to 12 credit hours total. Students are encouraged to work with the graduate program director and their advisor to ensure all requirements are met.
