All undergraduate students begin their academic career on the Allendale Campus. Students in this major continue their upper division studies on the GVSU Health Campus, near the Grand Rapids Medical Mile. ![]() |
Coursework |
Students admitted to this program will count up to 12 credits of graduate work in partial satisfaction of the requirements for the undergraduate degree. Certain classes may count towards both the B.S. and M.S. degrees. Students are encouraged to meet with their graduate program director to ensure all requirements are met. ![]() |
The Special Education master's degree is 33 credit hours of coursework. Candidates can choose from one of the following emphasis areas: autism spectrum disorder, cognitive impairment, or learning disabilities. Classes are offered in the evening, on weekends, during the spring/summer semester, and online, making scheduling easier for teachers. All students will study a variety of subjects including:

Those applications received after the deadline will be considered on an individual basis and program availability.
