All undergraduate students begin their academic career on the Allendale Campus. Students in this program continue their upper division studies downtown on the Robert C. Pew Grand Rapids Campus.

Coursework

The digital badge is comprised of two four credit courses, a total of eight credits.

  • EGR 343 - Applied Electromagnetics
  • EGR 443 - Electromagnetic Compatibility

The courses include lecture, discussion, examinations, laboratory hours/assignments, and a design project.

Both classes must be passed with a C or better.

Dr.O.T. students will study a variety of topics, including:

  • Occupational science
  • Public policy, advocacy, and leadership
  • Education
  • Advanced practice

Application deadline is August 1 for fall semester and December 1 for winter semester. The $30 application fee is waived if the applicant previously applied to GVSU.

  • Two years of practice experience as an OTR.
  • GPA of 3.25 over the last 60 credit hours.
  • Critical evaluation of an occupational therapy article.
  • Personal statement, including identification of specific goals and timelines in completing Dr.O.T. program.
  • Personal interview with two OST department faculty members.
  • Three letters of support from professional colleagues, supervisors, or department heads.
  • Professional resume outlining work history and continuing education experiences.

Graduates with training in behavioral neuroscience have worked for colleges and universities, research institutes, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and government agencies. Students with a Behavioral Neuroscience degree may also pursue graduate study in neuroscience, neuropsychology, or related fields, or professional degrees in health-related fields.
