Meet the Faculty

Chelsea Brehm has been teaching full-time with GVSU since 2014. She has background and experience in intramurals, club sports, K-12 athletic administration, event management, and coaching.
She is a product of the program and after completing her bachelor’s degree from GVSU, began work as a district-wide athletic director for Grand Rapids Public Schools. She returned to GVSU in 2013 to complete her M.Ed. and then began teaching full-time. Chelsea is currently in the final stages of completing her PhD in Sport Management at Western Michigan University.
One of her favorite parts of the job is coordinating high-impact opportunities for students to grow, learn, and explore. They have ventured to the NFL Draft, the WBB Final Four, Special Olympics, and many other major sporting venues for lectures & experiences. She values listening to students reflect on those experiences and loves cheering them on for life post-graduation.
In her spare time, Chelsea coaches varsity volleyball at Lakewood High School where her youngest is a sophomore. She loves to boat, bike, garden, read, and travel.
