La Tertulia offers students the opportunity to delve deeper into Hispanic and Latino cultures in an environment outside of the classroom. It is our goal to provide a safe environment to practice Spanish, learn about the cultures of Spanish speaking areas, and build relationships with fellow members from many different countries and backgrounds. We do this throughout the year by offering opportunities for students to:
- Try new foods and products native to different countries and cultures
- Take trips to museums, restaurants, and other cultural events
- Immerse themselves in the arts, including dance and song, native to different countries and cultures
- Make connections with international students from many different Spanish speaking countries
- Volunteer with local Hispanic and Latino organizations to give back to the community
