Follow-Up Romeo and Juliet Auditions
Thursday, August 29 6-8PM in Room 1721 of the Haas Center for
Performing Arts
We are looking to add five more cast members to our production of Romeo and Juliet, and we would love for you to audition! No monologue needed for the audition. Please choose one of the following sides to read from for the character you are most interested in. You do not need to memorize the side for the audition, but it would be good to be familiar with it. No sign-up is required. Just show up!
Sampson: A servant to the Capulets. Hot head, braggart, big
talker.
Abraham: A servant to the Montagues. Won't stand being
insulted, and eager to defend the honor of the House of Montague.
Balthasar: A servant to the Montagues. Even though a servant, still
has great care and affection for Romeo.
U/S Juliet: Only daughter
of the House of Capulet. Witty, charming, intelligent, fierce. Falls
in love with Romeo.
U/S Romeo: Only son of the House of Montague.
Passionate, tender, playful, loyal. Falls in love with Juliet.
Anyone who auditioned back in April is encouraged to audition! If
you did not previously audition or are new to Grand Valley, we also
encourage you to audition.
Romeo and Juliet is currently in rehearsal and will perform October 4, 5, 10, 11, 12 at 7:30 PM and October 6, 13 at 2PM. There will also be 3 special secondary school matinees on October 10, 11, and 12 at 10AM. All performances will be in the Louis Armstrong Theatre. Romeo and Juliet is the mainstage production for the Grand Valley Shakespeare Festival, and the first production of our Grand Valley Theatre 2024-25 Mainstage Season. Rehearsals are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 6-9 and Saturdays 12-4. Please be prepared to list any conflicts at the auditions. There will not be a rehearsal on Labor Day. Email Jim Bell at [email protected] if you have questions.
