The Middle East Studies program will be hosting Dr. Dahlia Fahmy of Long Island University as she presents about the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East in light of the war in Gaza, subsequent cease-fire, and the new Trump administration here in the U.S. Dr. Fahmy is the keynote speaker for the Michigan Model Arab League, hosted every year by GVSU. While her keynote speech Thursday evening is for members of the Michigan Model Arab League only, this daytime lecture is open to any student, staff, or faculty interested in learning about the current situation in the Middle East.
