Join forces with Alternative Breaks and Family Promise right here on campus! Family Promise is dedicated to helping families facing homelessness. Their mission is to empower the homeless and low-income families to achieve sustainable independence through a community-based approach by connecting families to emergency services, housing, stabilization, and family support services. Family Promise is working towards ending homelessness one family at a time. You can learn more about them here. We will be helping out with their Partners in Housing program by crafting welcome home banners, and spreading messages of celebration to families transitioning from shelters to mobile homes. These banners will enhance their new homes, creating a warm and uplifting welcome. It will be on Grand Valley's Allendale campus in the Kirkhof Center, room 2201 from 5-7 pm on January 28. Plus, snacks will be provided to keep the creativity flowing. RSVP below to make a difference together!
