
Nobel Laureate in Chemistry to speak at GVSU

The 2009 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, Ada Yonath, will be the
speaker for the 2013 Arnold C. Ott Lectureship in Chemistry at Grand
Valley State University.
Yonath is the director of the Helen and Milton A. Kimmelman
Center for Biomolecular Structure and Assembly and a professor in the
Department of Structural Biology at the Weizmann Institute of Science
in Israel.
Yonath’s speech, “The Amazing Ribosome and Its
Tiny Enemies,” will take place April 3 at 6 p.m. in Loosemore
Auditorium at DeVos Center on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus.
She will also address students and faculty earlier in the day.
The chemistry seminar, “A Prebiotic Bonding Apparatus is Still
Functioning in the Contemporary Ribosomes,” will take place at 1 p.m.
in Manitou Hall on the Allendale Campus.
