
Keynote speaker announced for SSD

Archaeologist and best-selling author Brian Fagan will be the keynote speaker during the 20th annual Student Scholars Day, scheduled for April 8.
Fagan is a noted authority on climate change and its relationship with human society and the environment. His bestseller, "The Great Warming: Climate Change and the Rise and Fall of Civilizations," showcases the power of climate change to disrupt and alter history.
Fagan is professor emeritus of anthropology at the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he has taught since 1967. He has written more than 45 books, including eight college textbooks.
Sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship, the event will have a record-breaking number of students and faculty mentors at 700.
