Carillons will toll tonight to mark 50th anniversary of MLK assassination
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4, 1968. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of his death, Grand Valley's Cook Carillon Tower and Beckering Family Carillon will join in a chorus of bells ringing at the same time tonight from carillon towers across the U.S., beginning in Memphis.

GrandPR creates communications campaigns for local nonprofits during 24-hour event
More than 30 students recently participated in a 24-hour marathon event to develop communications campaigns for five West Michigan nonprofit organizations that will ultimately help them make an impact in the local community and beyond. Students to support local human trafficking charity through dance performances
A collective of 30 Grand Valley student dancers and choreographers will capitalize on the excitement of live dance performances as a way to to raise money for a local charity. Every semester, the Momentum student dance organization holds multiple dance events to benefit a charity organization. This semester, the group will be supporting The Hope Project, an organization based in Muskegon that offers rehabilitation programs and aftercare services for victims of human trafficking. Alumna reporter who broke Nassar sex abuse story speaks about investigation during campus event
Marisa Kwiatkowski, '05, was one of three IndyStar reporters who broke the USA Gymnastics sexual abuse story that led to the conviction of sports physician Larry Nassar. More than 250 individuals have come forward with allegations of abuse against Nassar since the investigation began. Kwiatkowski shared anecdotes and insights about the investigation during the inaugural Robert Mayberry Comm-Unity Series event on March 26.

1,200 local students compete in STEM challenges during annual Science Olympiad
More than 1,200 local middle and high school students spent March 17 building bottle rockets, dissecting thermodynamics, solving crimes, constructing towers and much more at Grand Valley during the 34th annual Region 12 Science Olympiad tournament.
